Only Illinois Hospital Awarded for Providing Quality Breast Cancer Care
ZION, IL --(Marketwired - March 22, 2016) - For the fourth consecutive year, Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA) at Midwestern Regional Medical Center (Midwestern) in Suburban Chicago has been recognized as a top center in the country for providing quality breast cancer care by the National Quality Measures for Breast Centers Program™ (NQMBC®). The CTCA® at Midwestern breast center is the only center in Illinois, and one of only 49 centers nationally, to be recognized as a Certified Quality Breast Center of Excellence™, reinforcing the hospital's position as a national leader in breast cancer care.
As part of the National Consortium of Breast Centers, the NQMBC recognizes centers with the esteemed designation for providing the highest level of care to patients. Using 36 National Quality Indicators™, the NQMBC evaluates breast programs on data from the areas of imaging, surgery, cancer registry, pathology, radiation and patient satisfaction to determine if high standards are met.
